Looking for the perfect fall coat? Instead of shopping for something new at the local department store, Gigi Hadid and Jennifer Lopez suggest checking out the contents of your bathroom. Over the past two days, Hadid and Lopez have added their names to a growing list of stars whose outerwear could be mistaken for spa wear.

Hadid attended the opening of her Guest In Residence pop-up boutique in Seoul, South Korea yesterday while wearing a belted chocolate brown coat. The plush piece mimicked the look of a dressing gown, thanks in large part to its raised collar and belted waist. Hadid, however, broke the self-care illusion by layering dark jeans and black loafers underneath.

Lopez opted for the trend for a day of travel. The singer and actress was spotted arriving at JFK Airport in a white teddy bear coat and her signature wide-leg jeans. Unlike Hadid, Lopez’s decision to leave her jacket open created a more casual look compared to the model’s outfit. This leaned more towards what we expected from fall and winter fashion, but still tied into the comfort aspect of the trend. Especially since Lopez topped off her outfit with a knit hat and cozy turtleneck.

Of course, Hadid and Lopez’s coats aren’t actually bathrobes. And surely, they both cost a pretty penny. But their fashion choices speak to a larger movement among celebrities that’s been happening on and off the red carpet lately.

A handful of stars are abandoning the typical gala dress in favor of haute couture gowns. Look no further than the groundbreaking Balenciaga dress that Isabella Huppert wore to the Cannes Film Festival or Butter yellow Jacquemus number Rihanna stepped out for a Fenty Hair event in September. There have also been examples of this trend outside of working hours, including Angelina Jolie who took a particular liking to a particular feathered coat-dress.
