PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (WPVI) — When creative minds come together to beat the long lines on Election Day, we get nationwide movements like “Pizza at the polls”.

The group, which started in 2016, mobilizes its members to target high-traffic polling locations with pizza. This is a way to ensure that hunger is not a reason why a voter must leave the line.

Pizza to the Polls hit several polling places in Philadelphia this morning in partnership with the Committee of the Seventy And OnePhillyConnect.

At Bright Hope Baptist Church in North Philadelphia, the pizza truck was flanked by “Joy at the polls” truck.

Joy to the Polls started in 2020 and brings musical entertainment to polling places in Philadelphia and other cities. The Philadelphia-based group, Snack timekept our spirits up with their soulful sound.

In the same place, organizations like PA Youth Vote open a store to provide gifts and information resources to voters.

Also present at Bright Hope Baptist Church was the Rev. Alyn Waller, one of several poll chaplains with Religions united to save democracy across the country.
