Syracuse, N.Y. – Section III officials informed the Syracuse City School District Tuesday that the Institute of Technology football team has been disqualified from the playoffs.

A source close to the situation told syracuse.com that ITC used a player in its quarterfinal win over Vernon Verona Sherrill last Friday who was ejected from the team’s regular season finale against Indian River the week before.

According to the NYSPHSAA handbook, if a player is ejected from a game, he must sit out the next two consecutive halves.
