Man faces charges for fatal caravan ripping in Holland Township

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — Charges have been authorized in connection with a crash that left one person dead and another seriously injured in Holland Township over the summer.

A trailer carrying a boat detached from a 2004 GMC near Quincy Street and 140th Avenue on July 21, striking two nearby pedestrians, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO).

A 62-year-old man from the Netherlands was killed. The other pedestrian, a 38-year-old Holland resident, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

We’re told a 44-year-old Dutch man is facing charges of moving causing death, moving causing serious injury, driving with a suspended license causing serious injury and failing to keep stop at the scene of an accident.

OCSO says the suspect has been in jail since September 18.
