Rick Scott supporters gather in Southwest Florida for victory speech

Hundreds of Senator Rick ScottSupporters joined him at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort in Bonita Springs, Fla., on election night to celebrate his victory for a second term in office.

He continues a long career for the sitting senator Floridaafter his first term in the Senate and two terms as governor of the state.

“This is a team event. Together we can celebrate a big win tonight. There are a lot of people to thank. There are a lot of people who have knocked on doors, made phone calls, sent texts ‘We had a lot of people just bust their butts,’ Scott told his supporters Tuesday night.

Scott won by nearly 13 points, and the race was called early, coming out to celebrate in the ballroom no more than two hours after the polls closed. It’s a very different race from his first Senate victory in 2018, where he narrowly won by just 10,000 votes.

On Tuesday evening, Senator Scott pledged to stand up for his constituents on issues including inflation, border security and crime.

“Every person in this room has a dream. My dream is that every child, regardless of the color of their skin, their religion or where they were born, has the chance to live the dream of this country. If it’s It’s true, it’s a hell of a country and that’s what we’re going to do.”

Scott also confirmed that he is vying for Senate leadership, to potentially oust Mitch McConnell from his role. This vote will take place next week.
