Your hidden restaurant or bar in Vegas?

Every time I go to Vegas, I make sure to reserve a table at my favorite place: Bouchon on the 10th floor of the Venezia Tower at the Venetian. This is Thomas Keller’s exquisite French bistro concept that he brought from Napa to Vegas. I always go back to Bouchon because it feels like I’m away from the hustle and bustle of the Strip and the food is delicious. My favorite dishes are the mussels au safran (saffron mussels in white wine sauce with fries), the croque madame and their crab benedictine.

In Vegas, you have to….

In Las Vegas you must immerse yourself in all the different casinos and their fun atmosphere, watch an unforgettable show and stroll along the Strip, especially if you are visiting for the first time

In Vegas you should never….

Rule #1: Never bet more than you are willing to lose. If you reach your loss limit, leave and come back another day!

What is the most accurate stereotype of Vegas, what is the most inaccurate?

The most accurate stereotype of Vegas is: “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”

The most inaccurate stereotype is that Vegas is all casinos and nightclubs. It’s so much more! Red Rock Canyon is nearby and I had one of my best hikes there.

What movie or TV series have (a look of) Vegas, don’t they?

Martin Scorsese’s epic crime drama Casino definitely captures the authentic side of Las Vegas and does it right. And on some level, this is also the case Hangover — it’s a fun, hot and wild adventure, but one that fortunately I didn’t experience! The comedy was filmed at Caesars Palace, and I hear it’s pager friendly.

The best place to experience the real Vegas?

The best place to discover the real Vegas is Fremont Street, also known as “Old Vegas.” You should definitely visit the historic casinos, including The Golden Nugget, as well as the neon lights. The famous stretch of road was a fashionable hangout for the Rat Pack, gangsters, showgirls and more! Fremont Street is now open to pedestrian traffic only and offers great attractions including the Neon Museum and the Mob Museum.
