Chelsea Star Cole Palmer is an injury doubt for Sunday’s Premier League match against Arsenal.

Palmer was hit with a challenge Lisandro Martinez during the 1-1 draw with Manchester United last weekend.

“Cole Palmer couldn’t train yesterday, he wasn’t in good shape” Enzo Maresca said Wednesday in his pre-match press conference ahead of Thursday’s UEFA Conference League match against Noah, for whom Palmer is ineligible to play having not been included in Chelsea’s squad of the Conference League.

“We hope to find him against Arsenal. We will evaluate it.”

Sancho close to return

Head coach Maresca ruled Jadon Sancho absent from Thursday’s match against Armenian side Noah, but revealed the winger is not far from a return.

“Jadon is the only one going out tomorrow, due to illness,” Maresca added.

“He is recovering from it, but he also took a knock during a session. Tomorrow he is out but we will see if he can be available for Sunday’s match, otherwise it will be after the international break for him. “

Fantasy Premier League implications

Palmer (£11.0m) is the second highest-scoring player in FPL this season, behind Mohamed Salah (£12.8m). He also has the second highest ownership, found in 55.7 per cent of teams, behind only Erling Haaland’s 69.2 per cent (£15.3 million).

Some 96,000 FPL managers have already moved it out of their teams during Gameweek 11. Managers who still own it will need to pay attention to the next Maresca update.
