Monaco in discussions to extend Soungoutou Magassa’s contract

According to The TeamAS Monaco is in discussions with the representatives of Soungoutou Magassa (21) to extend the midfielder’s contract.

In 2023, the 21-year-old signs a new 4-year contract with the Monegasques. The French midfielder’s current contract at Stade Louis II will expire in 2027. Since arriving in the first team, Magassa has not always had the easiest journey at Monaco. However, this did not dissuade the principality club from wanting to keep the graduate from the training center on the Côte d’Azur.

Discussions over a new contract have been ongoing for some time, but it remains to be seen whether the parties are close to reaching agreement on a new deal. Monaco head coach Adi Hütter is a big fan of the player and probably one of the driving forces behind the ongoing negotiations. Magassa was one of the crucial elements in their 1-0 win over Bologna in the Champions League, leading the German coach to praise his midfielder. Hütter, commenting on the Frenchman’s performance, called him the ‘boss’ of the midfield against the Serie A club.
