What you need to know about the final season of ‘Yellowstone’

The long-awaited return of Yellow stoneAmerica’s most-watched entertainment TV show, is finally here: Season 5, Part 2 premieres Sunday, November 10 at 8 p.m. ET on Paramount Network and 10 p.m. ET on CBS. (The show won’t air on Paramount+, but you can watch its prequels 1883 And 1923 there.)

The last time we saw the Montana Duttons was on January 1, 2023, when the final episode of the first half of Season 5 aired. 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes, as well as filming conflicts with star Kevin Costner, 69, slowed production on the second half of season 5. But ultimately — hooray! — the Duttons (or most of them, anyway) return to our small screens to replay the last six episodes of the series.

Ready to head back to the ranch on November 10? Here’s a look back at where we left in 2023 and everything we know so far about what’s to come.

Cole Hauser and fan favorite Kelly Reilly as sizzling lovers Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton: Will they take over the Yellowstone Ranch?

Primordial

Here’s where we left off

In the first part of Season 5, patriarch John Dutton (Costner) is sworn in as governor of Montana and begins taking big steps to protect the Dutton Ranch in Yellowstone from his enemies. But Market Equities, the real estate company after the ranch, calls in reinforcements to finally crush the Duttons. This season, boisterous girl Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) – often ranked as the show’s most popular character, ahead of Costner – faces off against stock market manager Caroline Warner (Academy Award nominee Jacki Weaver, 77) , intensifying their already hostile relationship. Meanwhile, his son Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes), who had moved away from the ranch to prioritize his own family – he lost a baby in a car accident while swerving to avoid a bison – feels plunged back into the Dutton drama. In a side story, John’s adopted son, Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley), becomes close to Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri), a ruthless lawyer at Market Equities, who subtly manipulates Jamie against her clan. This fuels ongoing tensions within the family, particularly between Beth and Jamie, whose relationship has long been fraught with bitterness and betrayal. The half season has been a slow cliffhanger pitting Jamie against Beth and John against Jamie.
