Governor Healey discusses 2024 election results

BOSTON (WGGB/WSHM) – Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll spoke at a post-election press conference Wednesday afternoon. During his speech, Healey reacted to the results of the 2024 presidential election and what it means for Massachusetts moving forward..

The governor reminded Bay State residents that now is the time for unity and for Americans to come together. She also told residents that no matter who they voted for, her administration would work with everyone as equals and continue to move forward.

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey spoke with reporters Wednesday to talk about the 2024 election results.

“At times like this, I also think it is important to remind everyone that our great country is bigger than any single person. We all have a role to play in building the kind of community, state, and country we want to be and want for our children. It is therefore up to all of us to chart the path forward. It’s Massachusetts. We’ve been doing this for almost 250 years. People will look to us to lead,” Healey explained.

The governor also mentioned that her administration would mark a major milestone Thursday in rebuilding the Holyoke Veterans Home. She said her administration is ahead of schedule to transform the building into a world-class facility for veterans.
