Investigation into Baba Siddique murder: Police to analyze Anmol Bishnoi’s call recording

A Mumbai court has ordered the Maharashtra Forensic Science Laboratory (DFSL) to provide recordings of an alleged conversation between a gunman involved in the shootout at Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai and gangster Anmol Bishnoi, brother of Lawrence Bishnoi .

The Mumbai Police intend to analyze the voice recording between the shooter, Vicky Kumar Gupta, and Bishnoi to investigate the latter’s potential involvement in the case. murder of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddiquewho was shot dead in Mumbai’s Bandra area on October 12.

Anmol, brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, is accused in the shooting incident at Salman Khan’s home. The gang is also being investigated in connection with the murder of Siddique, for which it claimed responsibility.

As per the court order, the voice recording kept by the forensic department will be handed over to Deputy Commissioner of Police Kishorkumar Shinde, while a copy will be kept for records.

Special Judge BD Shelke, while passing the order on the application of the Mumbai crime branch, observed that “the investigating agency requires a soft copy of the conversation between the arrested accused Vickykumar Gupta (the alleged shooter) and wanted accused Anmol Bishnoi.”

“Hence, this Court has no hesitation in issuing directions to the DFSL to furnish a soft copy of the said audio extract of the conversation of accused Vickykumar Gupta and wanted accused Anmol Bishnoi to the agency of investigation,” added the court.

On April 14, two individuals on a motorcycle, including Vicky Kumar Gupta, fired shots outside actor Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai. The shooters, Gupta and Sagar Pal, were later apprehended in Gujarat.

According to the chargesheet filed by the crime branch, Gupta had been in contact with wanted accused Anmol Bishnoi through instant messaging app Signal. Gupta allegedly sent an audio clip of their conversation to his brother, who is a witness in the case, police said.

The police seized the brother’s phone and, after data extraction by the DFSL, recovered the voice extract.

Citing the importance of analyzing these voice samples for the Siddique murder case, the Mumbai crime branch contacted the DFSL. However, DFSL informed them that the phone remains sealed, with the audio clip kept separately on a USB stick.

The voice analysis was carried out and the report is included in the charge sheet related to the shooting incident at Salman Khan’s house.

Siddique, a three-time Congress MP who recently joined the Nationalist Congress Party faction led by Ajit Pawar, was shot dead outside his office in Nirmal Nagar on October 12. Police have confirmed it was a planned killing and are investigating a possible link to Congress. Gang Bishnoi.
