  • This is the world’s first Tesla Model S Plaid police patrol vehicle.
  • It is produced by Unplugged Performance, a company specializing in the modification of electric vehicles, particularly Tesla models.

We are used to seeing and reading articles about all the scandalous cars Dubai Police Fleetlike the Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Urus and Nissan GT-R. Well, we can now say we have this in our house because the good people at Unplugged Performance have made the first Tesla Model S Checkered police car.

It’s one of the fastest cars in the world, with over 1,000 horsepower available and a 0-60 mph time of just 1.99 seconds (according to Tesla), so it should be a good partner for agents trying to catch bad guys. ride in good old muscle cars. It’s also a rather modest car, especially for those who don’t know what they’re dealing with, which can mislead any speeding driver into thinking it’s “just another electric vehicle.” .

Police ready Model S Plaid is the product of Up.Fit, the arm of Unplugged Performance that modifies electric vehicles for several applications, including law enforcement and military work. You may have seen their Model Y police car or the rather scandalous Apocalypse-style Cybertruck.

The first Tesla Model S Plaid patrol vehicle to roll out of Up.Fit’s garage will be for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Motorsports Department’s community outreach program. It features custom front- and rear-facing warning lights integrated into the front and rear windows to preserve the car’s aerodynamics. There are additional lights in the side skirts and bumper. High- and low-frequency emergency sirens and public alert systems are also installed on the electric vehicle, making it fully compliant with California Title 13, which prescribes, among other things, what a highway patrol vehicle must be equipped.

The super-fast electric police car also gets some goodies under the skin, such as upgraded brakes and lightweight forged wheels.

“The UP.FIT Plaid Pursuit embodies everything we love about electric police vehicles,” said Ben Schaffer, CEO of Unplugged Performance. “From exceptional acceleration and autonomy to reduced maintenance and fuel costs, this platform provides law enforcement with the latest tools to improve their mission while saving taxpayer dollars and promoting a cleaner future. »
