Guava Family recalls strollers due to fall and injury risks

Guava Family is recalling approximately 8,500 Roam strollers because the stroller brakes may fail to engage or disengage unexpectedly, posing fall and injury risks to children.

The company received 67 reports of brake lock disengagement. The company also received 152 reports that the brake pedal did not engage when pressed. No injuries were reported.

This recall affects Guava Roam First Generation three-wheel folding strollers manufactured between July 2020 and December 2021. Strollers are “first generation” if they have a manufacturing date between July 2020 and December 2021.

They have a black frame with the “Guava” logo in gray on the frame. The seat, hood and storage compartment are black. The strollers measure approximately 39 inches long by 25 inches wide by 43 inches high and weigh approximately 28.5 pounds.

The black label on the crossbar under the seat reads “Guava Family Inc.” and includes the Roam model name, model number, and date of manufacture. Only first generation strollers with a manufacturing date between July 2020 and December 2021 are included in the recall.

The strollers were sold online at www.guavafamily.com and www.babylist.com from August 2020 to October 2023 for between $500 and $550.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled strollers and contact Guava Family for instructions on how to sign up for a free repair kit and new installation instructions.
