Liver and hearts “unfit” for consumption

KUWAIT CITY, November 7: The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) reported during an inspection tour of the Shuwaikh Industrial Zone by the inspectors of the Kuwait Capital Governorate Municipality that 300 kilos of adulterated meat of unknown origin were seized and destroyed, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Items seized included livers, hearts, tongues and various other types of frozen meat that had been thawed and falsely sold as fresh. This action reflects the authorities’ commitment to protecting public health by cracking down on the sale of unsafe or mislabeled food products. In doing so, PAFN highlighted its continued efforts to conduct regular inspections to protect consumers and ensure compliance with food safety standards.

Separately, the Trade Control Department of the Ministry of Trade and Industry reported significant activity for the month of October, closing nine stores and opening 20 new ones. According to department statistics, emergency inspection teams recorded 515 seizure reports and identified 37 cases of permit violations during the month.
