Police say a van crashed into a Winnipeg elementary school around 3 p.m. Wednesday, plowing into a classroom.

The Winnipeg Police Service said the classroom at Holy Cross Elementary School, located on Dubuc Street in St. Boniface, was empty at the time. No students or staff were injured.

The adult driver, who remained at the scene and encountered police, was also uninjured.

Winnipeg police say there is no suspicion of criminal intent and the vehicle is being inspected.
