THE LAST DANCE will battle HERETIC for No. 1 this weekend as early MOANA 2 screenings descend

Venom: The Last Dance is about to enter its third weekend in theaters but will it remain #1? Deadline think trio are eyeing a $12 million haul, although A24’s Hugh Grant is headed Heretic could pose a problem for Protector Lethal.

As the studio projects an $8 million opening weekend, exhibitors estimate it could earn as much, if not more, than the last Venom movie.

As we reported yesterday, Election Day was a good Tuesday for Venom: The Last Dance as it grossed an impressive $3.3 million, a 56% increase from Monday. With a cumulative sum of 95.3 million dollars, the film will exceed 100 million dollars tomorrow.

In other box office news, it’s expected Moana 2 will exceed expectations when it opens over Thanksgiving weekend. As AMC CEO Adam Aron says, “Some people in the know tell me that Moana 2 could eclipse and even surpass the success of Inside Out 2.”

The Pixar sequel opened to $154.2 million, the second-biggest debut behind Deadpool and WolverineThat’s $211.4 million. The trade estimates a debut of more than $100 million over the five-day Thanksgiving holiday likely, as it eyes an opening weekend of $75 million to $82 million, based on projections (which, as always, could increase or decrease).

Considering the fact Moana 2 started life as a Disney+ TV series before Bob Iger decided it should be made into a film relatively late in development, we’d say his gamble will pay off handsomely,

It should also heat up at the box office thanks to Gladiator II‘s predicted debut at $65 million and Wickedis estimated at $80 million.

It is too early to say how Kraven the Hunter will do the trick, although tickets aren’t expected to go on sale until the end of the month, making it difficult for analysts to make precise forecasts.

As always, check back here regularly for updates.

“The most cinematic and monumental Venom film to date, we said in our recent review from the movie, “The Last Dance leaves room for improvement, but by raising the stakes and allowing Eddie and Venom to bond, it’s epic and heartfelt enough to leave us hoping this is far from Tom Hardy’s last whirlwind as a mortal protector.”

In Venom: The Last DanceTom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo is forced to make a devastating decision that will end Venom and Eddie’s last dance.

The film stars Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, Stephen Graham and Rhys Ifans. Kelly Marcel is directing from a screenplay she wrote, based on a story by Hardy and Marcel. The film is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Kelly Marcel, Tom Hardy and Hutch Parker.

Venom: The Last Dance is now playing in the cinema.
