Shooting victims taken to hospital with gunshot wounds shot themselves

UPDATE at 3:17 p.m.:

The two men taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds Wednesday evening allegedly shot each other, according to a news release from Tucson police.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 9 p.m. in the 2400 block of North Haskell Drive, near North Alvernon Way and East Grant Road.

When officers arrived, they found two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds, the release states. Both men were transported to Banner University Medical Center, where one of them, Raymond Murillo, 22, died from his injuries, the news release said.

The second man is in critical but stable condition.

TPD detectives determined that Murillo and the other man were involved in an altercation that resulted in them exchanging gunfire.

No charges or citations have been issued at this time, the release states. The investigation is ongoing.

A man was shot and killed overnight near Grant and Alvernon, according to Tucson police.

Another man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but is in stable condition.

Police said it happened near the 2400 block of N. Haskell around 9 p.m. Wednesday evening.

TPD says it is investigating, but details are limited at this time.
