More than 100 veterans come together to share stories with Greater Johnstown students

Greater Johnstown Middle School celebrated its 25th annual Veterans Breakfast, welcoming more than 100 veterans to honor their service in conflicts spanning from World War II to the present.

Principal Ross Houston, who is in his first year at the school, highlighted the importance of the event, saying: “It is our duty to express our gratitude to those who have guaranteed the freedoms we enjoy today. today. »

More than 80 veterans were officially registered for the breakfast, and more attendees joined them throughout the morning.

Houston noted that the most meaningful part of the event was the opportunity for students to connect with veterans and hear their stories.

“It’s not about the breakfast or the music, it’s about the opportunity for students to learn from those who have served,” he said.

The breakfast allowed veterans to share their experiences, creating a unique learning opportunity for students to better understand the sacrifices made by those who served.
