Canada Hindu temple priest suspended following protest against Batenge to Katenge, reinstated

The Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton, Canada, had suspended the priest who delivered a speech calling on Hindus to stand united after an attack by a Khalistani mob on worshipers on Diwali weekend. However, after review, the temple organization reinstated him two days later.

“The Hindu Sabha did not authorize or permit Priest Rajinder Parsad to engage in the activities that occurred recently. The Hindu Sabha had no prior knowledge of his involvement in these activities. Based on the preliminary information, priest Rajinder Parsad has been suspended,” said Madhusudan Lama. , the president of the Brampton Temple in a statement Thursday, November 7.

“Following further review, we have reinstated priest Rajinder Parsad to his duties and responsibilities in the Hindu Sabha,” the Thursday statement said.

The Hindu Sabha temple suspended priest Prasad on November 5, two days after his speech at a protest by people of multiple faiths from Canada’s Indian community.

Priest Parsad was seen delivering a speech to the members of the Indo-Canadian community who had gathered at the temple premises to protest against the attack on devotees inside the temple on 2 and 3 november.
