Abhishek Bachchan hailed Rajinikanth as invincible at 74, challenged anyone to rival his ‘uncle Rajni’: throwback

Rajinikanth is the ultimate mass man of Indian cinema. In his decades-long career, there is not a heart that he has not touched and his incredible performances are a worthy testimony to that. Thalaiva has been an inspiration to many others, one of them being Amitabh Bachchan’s son Abhishek Bachchan. A look back at actor Guru’s candid remark about the superstar.

In one of his older interviews, Jr Bachchan had made a candid remark about Rajinikanth, whom he fondly called ‘Uncle Rajni’. He dared that no one in the Indian film industry could ever do the kind of work the superstar is doing right now, even at the age of 74.

Which implies that age is really just a number for the Vettayan Actor Abhishek said, “I challenge anyone to do what uncle Rajini is doing at 74 and prove it… Not possible. That’s why there is only @rajinikanth .”

Check out Abhishek’s response here:

One can’t help but admit that over the past few years, Rajinikanth has given some very energetic performances one after the other. It all started with the release of Lingaa in 2014, followed by successive mega hits like Kabali, Kaala, 2.0, Petra, Jailer, Lal Salaam and most recently Vettaiyan.

The actor seems to age like fine wine and he strives to deliver a notch higher every time in each of his outings. Moreover, the fact that he can pull off high-octane action sequences effortlessly and bang out the tunes of energetic dance numbers at such an age proves how one cannot take away his pure dedication towards craftsmanship.

However, even though Rajinikanth has now reached the pinnacle of success, things haven’t always been a bed of roses for him. The actor went through rejections and difficult challenges to achieve the global stardom he enjoys today.

In January 2020, during the audio launch of his film Darbar, Thalaiva narrated an important moment in his life, where, after being deeply insulted by a filmmaker, he vowed to prove his worth.

Explaining why he had promised himself never to return to the film set where he was insulted without a car, the actor said: “That’s when I realized that if I didn’t come back at AVM Studios in a foreign car, then I wouldn’t be Rajinikanth.

On the work front, Rajinikanth would be next seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film. Coolie.
