Costco Wholesale opened its first location in Brantford on Friday.

The new location is located at 175 Roy Boulevard, off Wayne Gretzky Drive, adjacent to Lynden Park Shopping Center.

It becomes the 41st location in Ontario and has created more than 180 permanent jobs and 80 seasonal jobs, according to a press release.

This warehouse also houses Costco’s first sushi department in the province.

With an area of ​​159,098 square feet, there is also an independent optometrist on site, a hearing aid center, five tire centers, a gas station with 24 pumps and a pharmacy.

Costco is open to members only, with nearly nine million members in Canada.
