Chargers move in popular direction in updated mock draft after trade deadline

Los Angeles Chargers fans have probably already learned it the hard way: NFL mock drafts will connect the team to the Michigan Wolverines players.

All the time.

But for Chargers fans, it’s probably hard to complain when these 2025 simulations have them grabbing Michigan defensive force Kenneth Grant as the last-ditch effort of Money launderers report do.

“Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh signed 6’3″, 339 pound Kenneth Grant to Michigan,” B/R wrote. “The draft-eligible junior could now join Harbaugh and his former coordinator college defensive end, Jesse Minter.”

The interior of the defensive line will always be one of those spots where the Chargers attack as well. Unlike the edge rushers, the team doesn’t really have any long-term blue-chip talent.

Despite this, Poona Ford and Teiar Tart were very good short-term picks by the new regime in the front office. One would fairly assume that they will at least look to re-sign Ford for an extension next offseason.

But adding a high-flying prospect to the middle rotation like this is one of those Jim Harbaugh roster-building philosophies that could help the defense remain a force in the long run.
