When defamed actress Elisabeth (Renate Reinsve) is abruptly summoned to an after-hours parent-teacher meeting, she is presented with scathing allegations that spark a tangle of accusations between parents and teachers. As Elisabeth struggles to uncover the truth amid empty school rooms and dark hallways, a chaotic struggle for redemption arises where desire, madness and obsession predominate.

Alongside Reinsve, “Armand” also plays Ellen Dorrit Petersen, Thea Lambrechts Vaulen, Endre Hellestveit, Øystein RøgerAnd Vera Veljovic.

In addition to directing, Tøndel also wrote the screenplay for “Armand.” Andrea Berentsen Ottmar produced the film.

As previously reported, “Armand” won the Caméra d’Or at Cannes this year, awarded by the festival jury to what it considers the best first feature film. This distinction should help Tøndel’s film be considered by the Academy, although “Armand” will have to be as “I’m still here” “Ball joint» and others for the wink.

But given their theatrical run, IFC Films seems confident in Tøndel’s chances of securing a nomination. “Armand” gets a qualifying theatrical release in New York on November 29 before an official limited theatrical release next year on February 7, 2025. The film then releases everywhere on February 14, 2025.
