In-N-Out’s Cover to Cover program combines books and burgers – Orange County Register

There’s still time for kids to read books and eat hamburgers.

This fall, children ages 4 to 12 who read five books or 300 minutes (or have an adult read to them) can earn a free hamburger through In-N-Out’s Cover to Cover Club program at libraries participating localities. (Kids can win up to 3 hamburgers in the program.)

This fall’s Cover to Cover club event started October 5th and ends November 16th. (And remember: Libraries will be closed on November 11, or in some cases, November 12, in honor of Veterans Day.)

The program, launched in 1994, aims to encourage children to read outside the classroom. “In-N-Out has always believed that providing a positive reading experience helps improve children’s self-esteem and motivates them to stay in school,” Denny Warnock, director of operations for the famous hamburger chain.

“In 2023, 593 libraries participated in the Cover to Cover reading program. I can confirm that over 250,000 certificates have been sent to children,” Warnock said.

That’s a lot of burgers – and a lot of books.
