Victoria Derbyshire fans rush to support her as she shares huge news | Television and radio | Showbiz and television

Victoria Derbyshire has shared a huge TV announcement following her groundbreaking latest episode of Newsnight.

The 56-year-old presenter is a fairly familiar face on the small screen. She initially began her career on BBC radio before moving to television.

She has worked on several television news and political programs, including BBC News Channel, Watchdog, Newsnight and Panorama.

And on Thursday (November 7), the TV presenter revealed her evening show Newsnight had broken TV records. Speaking to X – formerly known as Twitter – she exclaimed: “#Newsnight broke records last night with its highest audience share in years.

“THANK YOU to new viewers and of course loyal viewers 🙂 Don’t miss our extended special on the US elections.”

It didn’t take long before her loyal legion of fans flocked to the comments to shower her with compliments following her impressive feat.

One user wrote: “Congratulations Victoria, enjoyed your coverage and got to speak to the American public,” while another agreed: “You are very good at what you do for #Newsnight/Great show last night. »

A third echoed: “You think you’re ace Victoria. Keep up the good work (clap emoji),” while a fourth replied: “Enjoyable as always. »

Meanwhile, another user wrote: “You need to push for Question time work Victoria. You are by far one of the best presenters on @BBC to have. @BBCPolitics.

It comes after the mother-of-two told how she suffered a miscarriage on a plane – but continued to work anyway.

The journalist – who has since had sons Oliver, 20, and Joe, 17, with husband Mark Sandell – recalled the “very upsetting experience” and admitted it was “bizarre” to see how she felt “practical and pragmatic” at the time. .

During an appearance on the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, she recalled: “We had a miscarriage first, it was very upsetting. I actually had a miscarriage on a plane; I was so practical and pragmatic that I was like, “Well, this is happening now and I’m going to work,” and I just kept going; It’s absolutely bizarre.

She later admitted that her grief was “one thing” that she struggled to talk about openly for a long time afterward. Victoria continued: “I’m a talker, I talk about everything. I’m very open – maybe that’s partly because of the way I was raised; we talked to my mom about all the shit that was going on.

“It was something I couldn’t talk about for five years; It was so strange that I couldn’t talk about it.
