The best in Saskatchewan 5A high school football are set to battle it out for the crown Saturday afternoon.

After winning the provincial semi-finals last weekend at home, the Carlton Crusaders will now head to enemy territory where they will face the Bishop James Mahoney (BJM) Saints for the 5A provincial championship at SMF Field in Saskatoon.

The Crusaders were victorious in Northern Saskatchewan. Football League (NSFL) and defeated the Regina FW Johnson Wildcats in their semi-final game, 39-13. Meanwhile, the Saints are champions of the Saskatoon League and reached the final by defeating the Moose Jaw Central Cyclones of the Southern Rural League in the semifinals, 31-3.

“(BJM is) not a team we’ve watched at all this year, so I’m excited to see what they do, but it’s a quality program year in and year out, like they were still competing for that 5A title in Saskatoon We know we’re going to see a good team and a good game next week, so we’re going to prepare and be ready to go,” said the Carlton head coach. , Lindsay Strachan, after their victory in semi-final.
