Fall Events with WMTA

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — It’s the middle of fall, and if you’re looking for fun ways to spruce up your calendar this month, look no further. FOX 17 spoke with the West Michigan Tourist Association for more details on some of the travel site’s best fall events:

Wonderland of St. Joseph’s Window
Mark your calendars for November 22 for today’s St. Joseph’s Window Wonderland. Discover the lights that light up your home as you explore downtown from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., admiring the dozens of window displays that have decorated their windows for the holiday season. Additionally, you can vote for your favorite. Window Wonderland runs through November 24. There is also a promotion on November 24 called Countdown to the New Year where you will have a chance to win local gift cards by presenting receipts at the St. Joe Today Welcome Center.

International Wine, Beer and Food Festival
Attendees can experience more than 1,200 wines, beers, ciders and spirits from around the world at the 17th International Wine, Beer and Food Festival taking place at DeVos Place on November 22-23. There is something for every palate, every budget and every level of tasting expertise. You can also reserve a place for a dinner with food and wine pairings offered by the best chefs in the region. There will be live music on 2 stages and tickets start at $25.

Celebrating the 45th anniversary of the aerial zoo
The Kalamazoo Air Zoo is now celebrating its 45th year, which means tickets are 45% off for the November 16 aerial celebration. There will be activities for children, cakes and a paper aerial championship. Plus, experience a full motion simulator, ride in an amusement park, jump like a skydiver and much more.

Mod Podge Pumpkins from Windmill Island Gardens
On November 12, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., you can complete a make-and-take craft in Holland’s Windmill Island Gardens. Decorate a pumpkin with a variety of different materials and seal it with mod-podge. This is the perfect fall activity to do with the kids. No experience is necessary and all materials are included in the $25 fee.
