SCOTLAND is expected to be blanketed in several days of snowfall later this month.

Weather report the data showed snow clouds appear over the country and trigger nearly a week of snow showers.

WXCHARTS experts predicted the winter dive at the end of the month.

And Scots will be dressing warm as snowflakes are accompanied by a frigid fall to sub-zero temperatures.

The polar plunge comes as the country has enjoyed rare warm winter days while the mercury reached 18°C ​​due to a meteorological phenomenon.

Experts predict some of November’s warmth will linger through the end of this week before cold weather sets in.

The mercury will be between 0°C and 2°C this week before dropping below zero. following Sunday.

Parts of the northwest will be the first to feel frost as temperatures reach -3C.

Scotland will then be plunged into a big freeze as sub-zero temperatures set in across the country.

The North East will be gripped by a chilling -7C, while the Scottish borders will experience a freezing -8C by November 19.

The following day will see the temperature get even colder, with central Scotland experiencing freezing temperatures of -9°C.

The Highlanders will warm up in some areas south of Inverness set to reach -11C.

On Friday, November 22, the weather will deteriorate, with most of the Central Highlands and Aberdeenshire enduring -12°C.

Parts of Lanarkshire will reach -7 while Glaswegians will face -6C.

But the East side will experience temperatures of -10°C and the south will drop between -5°C and -8°C.

Icy conditions will also lead to snowfall in November.

This comes as the mercury will plummet to sub-zero temperatures.

The first snow showers will arrive on November 18 and will bring heavy snowfall to the mountains, with up to 37cm at the summit of Ben Nevis.

Up to 7 cm of snowflakes will be found in the northwest.

More snow will disperse throughout the week, and more areas will awaken to the wonders of winter.

The northwest will see up to 6 inches of snow by the end of the week.

Areas north of Glasgow will see up to 5 cm of white substance present.

While Edinburghthe Lothians, Borders and eastern parts of Lanarkshire will see between 4cm and 10cm of snow to accompany their deep freeze.

Glasgow and the South West stay without snow throughout the week and endure the cold without snowflakes.

Snow will persist across the north and east of the country until Sunday November 24 before melting on November 25.

Temperatures will gradually rise to 2°C across the country by the weekend and melt the snow as milder conditions return the following week.
