Organized by independent journalist Katrina Mirpuri, the event took place this afternoon at the London Soho Square.

As the name suggests, anyone could come and see if it looked like the idol actor and former leader of 1D.

Contestants were encouraged to dress inspired by the star’s famously flamboyant wardrobe, while adding their own style.

The panel of judges included Ryan Lanji, a party planner known for his work on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and The Book of Harry author, Bonnie McLaren.

They were accompanied by numerous lifestyle and showbiz journalists, all admitted One direction superfans.

Prizes ranged from £50 for the winner and a selection of hair products for the winner in the ‘best hair’ category, to a six-pack of organic wine for ‘best style’.

And even the entrant who was unlucky enough to be ranked as the worst lookalike didn’t leave empty-handed, asking for a four-pack cheap beer.

All awards were presented by alumni love island star Eyal Booker.

After a hard-fought competition, a winner was chosen – but reactions were mixed on social media.

One commenter wrote: “None of them look like him. »

Another joked: “Are the doppelgangers in the room with us now?

Yet a third hit back: “The Harry Styles lookalike competition in London was full of serious competition.”

Still, it’s just the latest in a recent craze of celebrity lookalike searches across the world.

A similar event dedicated to Timothée Chalamet in New York, the man himself appeared and was eventually dispersed by police after too many people arrived.

And another in Dublin attracted a crowd of young Irish people saying look like Paul Mescal.
