Kid Rock Posts Incredibly Unexpected Message to Fellow Trump Supporters

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s contributor network

Kid Rock sent a bold – and unexpected – message to his fellow Trump supporters following the 2024 elections.

The 53-year-old southern rocker (real name: Bob Ritchie) has been a staunch Trump supporter over the years, while also making headlines for his brash behavior – in support of his political views – which has often been the subject of intense discussion on the Internet. backlash.

But in a video shared to social media on Friday, Nov. 8, the “Picture” artist not only sought to show the world the glaring difference between his Kid Rock persona and who he is as Ritchie — but also to “to extend an olive branch”. to Harris supporters after Trump’s election day victory.

Kid Rock kicks off the video by showing how he, as his musician alter ego, reacted to Trump’s victory – walking up to a microphone, cigar dangling from his mouth, wearing a white MAGA hat and a bright red jumpsuit adorned with flames, his signature long hair flowing wildly around him. Just as he’s about to speak, he drops the mic in an overly exaggerated manner, grabs his crotch, and gives the camera the middle finger.

The clip then cuts to a more subdued Ritchie — glasses, hair tucked into a navy blue Detroit cap, sporting a white T-shirt, shorts and athletic sneakers — presenting his own election response.

“First of all, let me tell my family, my friends and my supporters that this is not the time to rejoice,” the “Batwitba” rocker said in voiceover, as excerpts from American and neighborhood flags appear on screen.

“We need to remember that most of our friends on the left are good people, who want the same things in life as we do, but who just think differently about how to get there. Now is the time to be a “greater man, to extend an olive branch and unite all the reasonable people of this great nation,” he continues, as the music builds to a crescendo and videos of him playing flash on the screen .

“God has blessed America, and with President Trump, we will make America great again,” he concludes in voiceover, over footage of the attempted assassination of Trump, including the former president lifting a triumphant fist in the air immediately afterwards. The video ultimately ends with promoting Kid Rock’s headlining spot at the Rock the Country music festival.

The “All Summer Long” artist’s message of unity stands in stark contrast to some of his more recent headline-grabbing behaviors, including his initial profanity-filled response to Trump’s assassination attempt during the summer.

“You fuck Trump, you fuck me,” Kid Rock said directly to the camera at the time.

The singer’s apparent penchant for guns has also caused significant backlash over the years, as it did back then — according to the rolling stone journalist who conducted the interview — he pulled out a gun during their discussion for the magazine’s profile on him.

“I got a damn gun here if I need it,” Kid Rock reportedly said during the interview. “I have them everywhere!”

He proved it when his much criticized reaction video has Bud light partnership with a transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney.

“F*** Bud Light and f*** Anheuser-Busch,” Kid Rock said in his July 2023 video, in which he openly shot beer cans.
