Kirill Kaprizov tops NHL scoring list as Wild beat Anaheim to continue torrid start

Kaprizov picked up his third point after pushing a loose puck on the power play (1-for-2) with 2:16 remaining for his team-best ninth goal. But the Ducks fought back on a Mason McTavish deflection that bounced off Gustavsson with 13 seconds left before a postgame scrimmage that included a brawl between Anaheim’s Zach Bogosian and Radko Gudas.

After his second straight and sixth three-point game in the NHL – no one else has more than three – Kaprizov leads the league with 27 points.

He has two more points than Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon despite starting the Wild’s road trip four behind MacKinnon.

“He leads our team,” Foligno said. “That’s the most important thing. You need your horses, and like MacKinnon does for his team, if he’s not there every night, it’s usually not a good night for the Colorado Avalanche. So it’s no different.

“He’s our star player and when he goes, the whole bench goes.”
