Ottawa Senators newcomer finally scores his first goal

This one must have felt good.

Ottawa Senators forward Michael Amadio finally scored his first goal of the season Saturday night, a big goal that tied the game late in the second period in Boston.

When Amadio signed a three-year, $7.8 million contract in the offseason, the hope was that he could provide winning experience from his time with Cup-winning Vegas and some secondary goals. Coming into the game, it hadn’t clicked yet. He only had two assists in 13 games.

When Amadio fired a shot past Jeremy Swayman to tie the score at 2, you could tell by his reaction that it meant a lot.

The monkey may now be officially off Amadio’s back, but he still has work to do to get the full respect and attention of Sportsnet’s graphics team.
