Queen Camilla will miss key Festival of Remembrance event for THIS reason

Queen Camilla, the wife of King Charles III, will reportedly not attend key Remembrance events over the coming week. According to People’s, the 77-year-old will miss the upcoming Festival of Remembrance which will take place at the Royal Albert Hall in London due to health concerns.

King Charles is believed to have led the family at the annual Royal British Legion event, which takes place on Sunday. The event commemorates the British and Commonwealth Armed Forces community and pays tribute to those who have served and sacrificed their lives.

On November 9, Buckingham Palace announced in a statement that Camilla would not attend the ceremony due to a seasonal lung infection.

The statement said: “Following doctors’ advice to ensure a full recovery from a seasonal lung infection and to protect others from any potential risks, Her Majesty will not attend this weekend’s Remembrance events,” reported People.

He added: “While this will be a source of great disappointment to the Queen, she will mark the occasion privately at home and hopes to return to public duties early next week.”

According to the daily, Camilla wanted to rest to ensure a speedy recovery and was worried about passing the infection to others if she decided to attend the public gathering. Camilla will spend the weekend at her private Ray Mill Wiltshire home.

According to the Palace’s updated cohort of working royals, the Queen’s name was not mentioned in the November 8 update. The list included Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton. Additionally, other royals expected at the event include Prince Edward, Duchess of Edinburgh – Sophie, Princess Anne, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, Duke of Gloucester – Prince Richard , the Duchess of Gloucester – Birgitte and the Duke of Kent – Prince Edward.

A few days earlier, Buckingham Palace announced that the Queen would “withdraw from her engagements for this week”.
