Gorgeous weekend weather ahead of a warm-up in Houston

Today’s forecast:

HOUSTON – We follow overnight showers and early morning fog. Today will be mostly sunny, but there will be fog early in the morning. We will be near record temperatures ahead of a cold front mid-week. Sunday will start with a mix of sun and clouds with lower humidity. Temperatures will start in the upper 60s and climb into the 70s. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 80s. This should do some good for those heading to the Texans game

Tropical Storm Rafael:

Rafael goes through more difficult conditions and his strength slowly diminishes.

Rafael is blocked by a cold front which will slow him down, stall him briefly then direct him towards Mexico.

There is no threat to us. Three will have no direct impact on Southeast Texas aside from high rip currents and rough seas through the weekend.

Strong fall cold front:

The fall was very warm. For the month of October we were almost 4° above average and so far in November we have been in the mid to upper 80s every day. This is NOT normal. Our normal high for this time of year should be in the mid 70s.

Changes are coming as it finally looks like we will see our first major fall front next week. Our current schedule has the cold front passing through next Wednesday. This will bring a chance of rain, but more importantly, it will bring a big chill.

This cold front will be noticeable as it moves through with a dramatic drop in temperatures, humidity and wind changes. This will also cause highs to drop into the upper 60s and lower 70s. Lows will fall into the upper 40s and 50s.

The timing of the cold front could change slightly, but we’re pretty confident we’ll finally get a healthy cooldown next week.

10-day forecast:

Temperatures will finally drop into the 70s late next week. Fall should be fantastic!
