Jacksonville Jaguars Receive Breakthrough Injury News

Any small hope for Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence to dress Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings has apparently been exhausted.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jaguars are officially expected to be without Lawrence – who could also miss Week 11 with his shoulder injury.

“Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, listed as questionable for Sunday because of a left shoulder injury, will not play against the Vikings, per source. The question is whether Lawrence will return next Sunday against the Lions or if the team will do it give him an extra week off and the Jacksonville bye will come the following week, ” Schefter said on X.

With Lawrence on the mend from his injury suffered in Week 9, the Jaguars should starting backup quarterback Mac Jones for the first time.

“Look, I mean, I had a back left shoulder when I was playing. It affects whether you want to throw, pull your shoulder through,” Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Friday.

“You don’t want to get hit. Obviously, it’s your lead shoulder. You don’t want to get hit on it. All that kind of stuff, protect yourself on it, fall on it. But in terms of throwing, it’s not not necessarily the case. It’s going to affect him too much. It’s a kind of pain tolerance deal.

Schefter also announced that the Jaguars will have Gabe Davis back in the lineup, while Brian Thomas Jr. will continue to play despite his chest injury.

“Jaguars WR Gabe Davis, listed as questionable for Sunday due to shoulder injury, expected to play against Vikings, source says. Jaguars WR Brian Thomas, listed as questionable for Sunday due to injury a chest injury, expected to play against the Vikings, according to source,” » said Schefter.
