Follow the Detroit Lions’ Week 10 game against the Texans

THE Detroit Lions and the Houston Texans face off in prime time in a highly anticipated matchup.

Both teams have Super Bowl aspirations. And even though injuries struck both teamsthey both lead their respective divisions. As a result, Sunday’s showdown will allow the winning team to add another milestone victory to their tally to begin the second half of the regular season.

Lions Coach Dan Campbell, known for his energy, admitted that channeling the anticipation of a game like this can be difficult given that it starts late in the evening.

“It’s a long time. You have to be careful how you take your coffee in the morning. When you start the music, you get the blood flowing because you’ll burn out if you’re not careful,” Campbell said. If you know me, you know I like prime time games at 1 p.m. But listen, it’s going to be a great game against a great team, who plays a lot like us .Physical battle here, it’ll be fun.”

THE Lions will be tasked with slowing down a high-powered Texas offense, led by quarterback CJ Stroud. Running back Joe Mixon is another key factor, as he has been a great addition after joining the team in free agency this past offseason.

“He brings the attitude, he brings the running game. He’s the type of player, kind of like (running back) David (Montgomery) for us, if it’s just a little muddy or if he has someone around him, he can do that’s true,” Campbell said. “He can get those extra yards. Run after contact, violent runner. He’s tough to tackle, man. The football population is on him.”
