Driver charged in early morning crash on Highway 400

A driver is facing several charges following a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 400 early Sunday morning.

At approximately 6 a.m., Aurora OPP officers responded to a crash on southbound Highway 400, just north of King Road in King Township.

Reports received by officers indicated that one vehicle crashed into another and both came to a stop in the center reservation, blocking a lane of traffic. Police confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.

Police say responding officers had reason to launch a drunk driving investigation into one of the drivers, who was later arrested at the scene.

A 21-year-old Ajax man has been charged with two offenses related to impaired driving and dangerous driving.

The accused was released and will appear in court in December in Newmarket.
