Founded with a mission to provide hands-on space education, SpaceKidz India has helped over a million students, especially from rural areas and tier-2 cities, engage in space-related projects. The organization has become the only Indian entity to have successfully designed and launched 27 missions, including over 18 nano-satellites and 5 orbital satellites.

Their most notable achievement was the creation of KalamSAT, the world’s lightest nanosatellite, launched by NASA.

The AzaadiSAT mission, launched in August 2022 to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, involved 750 girls from across the country. This mission aimed to inspire young women to pursue STEM careers, in line with PM Modi’s vision of creating an inclusive and diverse space ecosystem. The satellite, launched on ISRO’s Small Satellite Launch Vehicle, carried radiation sensors and communications equipment, marking a milestone in promoting gender equality in space. industry.

ShakthiSAT Mission

SpaceKidz India’s latest initiative, the ShakthiSAT mission, illustrates the country’s growing influence in global space cooperation. Through ShakthiSAT, SpaceKidz India strives to train 12,000 girls from 108 countries in space technologies. The program includes a 120-hour online training course on space technology, after which a representative from each country will be selected to journey to India for hands-on experience in building the “spacecraft to be launched into lunar orbit”. This global initiative not only promotes gender-inclusive education but also fosters international collaboration in the field of space exploration. With participants from countries including Nigeria, Guyana and Brazil, the program strengthens India’s diplomatic relations and demonstrates the country’s commitment to creating a collaborative and inclusive space ecosystem.

Prime Minister visits Nigeria, Brazil and Guyana

In the coming days, as Prime Minister Modi prepares to visit Nigeria, Brazil and Guyana, space cooperation will be high on the agenda. These visits reflect India’s commitment to fostering international partnerships, particularly in the field of space exploration. Discussions will focus on sharing best practices, knowledge exchange and collaborative space missions. The visits align with Modi’s vision of India as a global partner in space, leading through innovation, inclusion and mutual growth.

ShakthiSAT brings together 108 countries, including ambassadors like Ms. Isadora Stefanhak Costa Arantes of Brazil, Brazil’s first astronaut candidate and NASA Ambassador for Astrobiology, and Ms. Temitope Adeniyi of Nigeria, an award-winning doctoral student specializing in quantum technology and AI in Cleveland.
