What are the 10 most Instagrammable golf courses in Canada?

Kananaskis Golf Course

Canada is one of the easiest countries to photograph, so it’s no surprise that it also has some of the most breathtaking golf courses in the world, offering diverse landscapes, from coastal cliffs to rugged mountain ranges .

Visual appeal has never been more important since the rise of Instagram and a new study from indoor golf experts. IndoorGolfGuide discovered the 10 most Instagrammed golf courses in Canada based on the number of tagged Instagram posts that mention each course.

Toronto Golf Club’s Colt Course comes in first place, with 14,780 tagged Instagram posts.

The club is one of the oldest in North America and this course was designed by the great architect Harry Colt in 1912. Its superb design, magnificent backdrop and proximity to downtown Toronto make it popular with Instagram users.

Number two heads to the mountains with Calgary Golf & Country Club tagged in 8,811 posts. It is Alberta’s oldest private golf club and features beautifully manicured fairways framed by mature trees and water features. It is an essential place to share.

The Old Course at Wolf Creek Golf Resort ranked third, with 5,616 tagged Instagram posts. Another Alberta track features rolling terrain, wide open spaces and deep bunkers.

BC State is in the top five with Tobiano Golf Course (5,149 positions). It is nestled on the shores of Kamloops Lake with a desert landscape and dramatic elevation changes providing a striking backdrop against the deep blue lake and surrounding mountains.

And the top five is completed by Glen Abbey GC (4,341), which is arguably the most prestigious course in Canada, having hosted the Canadian Open more than 30 times. Its famous “Valley Holes,” which descend into Sixteen Mile Creek Ravine, offer panoramic views and challenging elevation changes that are both thrilling to play and breathtaking to photograph.

Many will be surprised that Banff Springs only ranks eighth. It offers a surreal, nature-immersed golf experience in the heart of Banff National Park. The fairways wind along the Bow River, with the surrounding mountains providing a spectacular, rugged backdrop ideal for capturing the perfect landscape photo.

Look at that!

Jehan Wadia, CEO of IndoorGolfGuide said: “This study highlights the growing intersection between golf, natural beauty and social media.

“Canada’s most Instagrammed courses, from the rugged terrain of Wolf Creek to the majestic landscapes of Banff Springs, demonstrate that today’s golfers seek not only a challenging game, but also stunning scenery.

“As social media increasingly influences travel and leisure choices, courses that offer a blend of heritage, unique design and visual appeal are thriving in the digital age. »
