NFL Broadcaster Takes Random Shot at Yankees’ Aaron Judge: ‘Really, No Explanation’

Too soon, Greg Olsen. Too early.

Less than two weeks after the New York Yankees’ season ended thanks to an erratic defense that included a fumbled ball from center fielder Aaron Judge, it has now become an NFL joke.

With about 1:48 left in the Saints’ 20-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans star running back Alvin Kamara dropped a wide-open pass on what appeared to be a touchdown easy, a game that would have frozen the match. Instead, the third-and-four play was incomplete and the Saints were forced to punt and hold the lead for 1:42.

In describing the play, Olsen, the FOX NFL analyst, compared it to Judge’s fall on an easy ball.

“Instead, an impossible fall,” play-by-play announcer Joe Davis began.

“Yeah, Cayden Ellis, #55. He plays for the choice route. He thinks Kamara is going to break in, escape and instead he runs right by him,” Olsen said. “It’s Aaron Judge dropping the ball in the fifth inning of the World Series. There’s really no explanation. One of the best players…”

Fortunately, for Kamara, the play didn’t cost the Saints the game or the Super Bowl; Judge’s came in Game 5 of the World Series, helping the Dodgers overcome a 5–0 deficit and win their eighth title.

“It’s the lamest thing I’ve ever done in my life, playing football,” said Kamara, who became the Saints’ all-time leading rusher, after the game. “It hurt me. I could have iced it. I was just mad that I put (the defense) back on the field, really. I wasn’t worried about them coming back and doing what they had to do. I just wish I had iced it so we could ride off into the sunset.
