Grade 12 Student Ends His Life Due to Academic Pressure

Rajkot: A 17-year-old student of class 12 allegedly committed suicide at her home, apparently fearing that she would not score enough marks to gain admission to the medical college.
The student was found hanging at her home at Oscar Residence near Ayodhya Chowk in the city on Sunday evening.
A science student, the girl left behind a suicide note, police said, in which she expressed fear that she would not be able to obtain enough results in upcoming exams to pursue medical studies. She took the extreme measure while her parents were away. After being found unconscious, she was rushed to the Civil Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
University police recorded an accidental death.
According to police sources, the note read: “Mom, please forgive me, I can’t fulfill your dream of becoming a doctor.” ยป University police retained the note for investigation.
The father of the deceased is a businessman. She was reportedly depressed due to the stress of studying and her worries about not being able to become a doctor led to suicide, sources said.
