The final day of this season’s Nations League is fast approaching. England must beat Greece if they are to have any chance of winning Group 2. The group winners will automatically be promoted to League A. If England want to finish second in their group it will mean they will have to go through the playoffs. in March for a chance for promotion.

With England needing to get a result against Greece to avoid qualifying for the playoffs, this will remind fans of their famous qualification for the 2002 edition. World Cup. The FA then rushed to announce Tuchel’s appointment. The German manager who won the Champions League with Chelsea’s mission is to win the World Cup in 2026 for England.

Most England fans are excited about Tuchel’s arrival but will have to wait to see him in the Three Lions dugout. Carsley must enjoy his final two senior games in England before returning to coach the country’s U21s.

Greece surprised England with a 2-1 victory at Wembley last month. Vangelis Pavlidis put the visiting team ahead before Jude Bellingham equalized late on. However, Pavlidis then scored the winning goal in added time.

Ivan Jovanovic’s team now have home advantage this Thursday, with the match being played at the Olympic Stadium in Athens. A victory for Greece would see them finish top of Group 2 of League B and be promoted to the top tier of the Nations League.

England have injury problems with Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jack Grealish all doubtful. This means Carsley will have to make changes to his team which beat Finland in its last match.

England’s planned line-up: Pickford, Walker, Stones, Guehi, Hall, Gomes, Gallagher, Bellingham, Palmer, Foden, Kane

Jovanovic will likely field a team similar to the one that beat England in October. Pavlidis will relish the opportunity to play against the Three Lions again.

The planned composition of Greece: Vlachodimos, Rota, Mavropanos, Koulierakis, Tsimikas, Siopis, Kourbelis, Masouras, Bakasetas, Tzolis, Pavlidis

Greece beat England for the first time last month. Jovanovic’s team will want to do it again with home advantage this Thursday. However, Carsley’s side will be looking to show that their loss to Greece was just a setback. The Three Lions are a much better team and should win 2-0.
