Dylan Walsh and Max Sanford return to Host Grindstone for 2025 Supercross West campaigns

Grindstone host Friesen Group has announced that Dylan Walsh and Max Sanford will return to competition in the 2025 Monster Energy Supercross 250 West division on Kawasakis.

“After an unfortunate Dylan Walsh accident during season opener last year at A1I wanted to give Dylan a chance to show the results he is capable of,” said Cari Schehr, team owner and trainer, in a press release. “Thanks to the work ethic and drive of Max and Dylan and the ability to coach them both for the upcoming season. I’m excited to see their growth and grow this team from the ground up with these guys! »

In its second year of competition, the renewal of these runners is an opportunity to capitalize on the racing and training notes for 2024.

Walsh made four features in the SX West division in 2023 and flirted with the top 10 in all but one of those races, which contributed to his securing the race. He achieved a career-best 10th place finish in the second race at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California that season. Last year, he returned to action for a ride in Seattle, Washington, and finished 22nd.

“(I’m) really excited to be back with the Grindstone Friesen group host team this upcoming season,” Walsh said. “I love motorcycling and I enjoy the team atmosphere. Obviously last year didn’t go as planned with my injury, so I feel like we have some redemption to do.

When Walsh was injured, Sanford was brought in to replace him.

Sanford competed in six rounds of 250 SX West in 2024 with a best finish of 12th in San Francisco.

“I am very excited to continue with the Grindstone Friesen Group host team in 2025,” said Sanford. “This is where I want to be and I’m surrounded by people who all share the same goal!”

Sponsorship for the team comes from a range of companies, many of which have a direct relationship with the Host Grindstone team and training center.

“We are a family-owned business founded in 1957,” said John Friesen, executive chairman of the Friesen Group. “A passion for helping others is ingrained in our DNA and we have been supporting our customers for many years. We love helping our community through the Friesen Foundation and have recently focused on helping our youth.

“So when Grindstone asked us to be a sponsor, the answer was a simple yes. Grindstone has an incredible professional supercross team, an amateur outdoor motocross team, and a motocross training center. But Grindstone is so much more than that… their goal is also to help young people become amazing adults.
