Former Auburn CB commit Dante Core reverses commitment to Ole Miss

With the early signing period less than a month away, turnovers and opt-outs are becoming more common.

It happened to Auburn on Monday, losing three-star corner commit Dante Core to Ole Miss. Core announced his commitment to the Rebels on X (formerly Twitter) Monday afternoon.

Core had already been committed to Auburn since May 18 before transferring to Ole Miss. A native of Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Core is the No. 660 player in the country and the No. 84 player in Florida, according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.

With Core gone, Auburn now has 26 commits in its 2025 class. The class remains the No. 5 overall class in the country for 2025, according to 247Sports.
