THIS WEEK:

Temperatures have been above normal every day so far during the month of November. The coolest morning we have experienced so far Monday is 52° on November 2nd. Tonight we will fall into the 40s for the first time this month and start our Tuesday morning in the mid 40s. A week long but dry front will push in this evening and with mostly clear skies temperatures will drop quickly during the night.

More sunshine is expected on Tuesday but the highs will be close to normal. We should still stay a few degrees above normal with highs reaching the mid 60s in the afternoon. Overnight lows will fall most of the week into the 40s and reach around 40 Thursday and Friday night. A few 30s may be possible in our northern counties, but no frost or freezing temperatures are expected. We could be looking at our last record freeze, but we still have 17 days until we set that record. The last fall frost we had in Jackson was October 28, 2004.

Highs on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will only reach the low to mid 60s. Clouds and rain showers will return on Wednesday and a few thunderstorms could mix in as well. Rain will begin late in the morning and continue intermittently through the afternoon and evening. There will be a chance for a few non-severe storms to mix in depending on when the front is expected to pass through Wednesday late evening or early night. The rain will stop before sunrise Thursday. Expect 1/2″ to 1″ of rain for most of West Tennessee. Mostly sunny skies will return Thursday and sunny skies appear likely Friday.

This week, winds will be from the northeast on Tuesday, from the southeast on Wednesday, back to the northwest on Thursday and directly from the north on Friday. The wind change will come from two cold fronts and a low pressure system moving through the area. No severe weather is forecast for us at this time this week.

THE WEEKEND:

Southerly winds will look to return this weekend to West Tennessee, warming us up a bit into the mid 60s for highs. There is a chance the temperature will reach the 70s next Sunday and Monday, but it will be close for most of us. Saturday will be a mostly sunny day, but more clouds will return late Sunday. There is a chance of rain showers late in the day and perhaps a few thunderstorms as early as Sunday, but that also does not appear to be significant at this time. Saturday morning it will be a little chilly around 40° but Saturday evening it will be around 50° and the mid 50s are expected for our Sunday evening. Overall, the weekend looks pretty good, with Saturday being a little cooler, less humid but dry.
