Daughter of Dandenong man Mark Jansen makes emotional appeal for information 30 years after his suspicious disappearance

The daughter of a Melbourne man who disappeared in suspicious circumstances 30 years ago when she was just a child has pleaded with those with information about her disappearance to finally come forward to police.

No other bodies have been found by police, who are still trying to track down the two men and woman who were inside the car Mr Jansen was seen getting into.

His eldest daughter Lichelle said in a statement Tuesday — exactly three decades after her father’s disappearance — that she would continue to fight for justice.

“Dad, your loss broke something in me that I don’t think will ever heal. I was just a child when you passed away, but the pain of not having you by my side followed me every day. the days since. You were my father – my protector, my hero – and someone took you away in the most brutal way,” she said.

“We now know that you are gone, but what happened to you still haunts us. Finding your body was devastating, but not knowing who did it, or why, is unbearable. Whoever took you is still there, and he should do it.” This is not the case. You didn’t deserve this.

“I’m pleading with anyone who knows anything to come forward. No information is too small – it could be the key to getting justice for my father. Imagine if this was your family, your father, your pain. If he please, don’t do it. “I’m not staying silent.

“Dad, I hope you know how much you were loved, and still are. I will never stop fighting for you – for the truth, for justice, and for the peace you deserve. The one who you did this must be held accountable. I promise.

Mr Jansen was co-owner of a fresh fish store at the Fruit City Complex in Dandenong, in Melbourne’s south-east, at the time of his disappearance.

He was last seen getting into a yellow 1981-1985 Holden Gemini sedan in a parking lot at the rear of the complex, with the three unidentified individuals inside the car.

The vehicle had an unknown registration and was reported to be in poor condition with missing hubcaps.

“It’s been thirty years, but it’s absolutely not too late to do the right thing. Any new information provided to police will be fully investigated. Mark’s family deserves answers.”
