ITV’s The Real Fatal Attraction will examine Anisah Ahmed’s sinister plot

Through a sinister ploy, Anisah Ahmed attempted to destroy the reputation of a lawyer with whom she was having an affair.

His plans to destroy Iqbal Mohammed will be explored in ITV documentary The true fatal attraction.

The documentary film draws parallels between Ahmed’s crimes and the plot of the 1987 film. Fatal attraction.

In the film, Alex (Glenn Close) begins an affair with Dan (Michael Douglas) but becomes furious when he tries to end the affair.

His attempt at revenge reaches a shocking climax when Dan comes home to find his girlfriend’s rabbit boiling in a pot on his stove.

The actual affair began when Iqbal received a LinkedIn request from Ahmed, whose profile indicated she was a young lawyer from Oxford.

Ahmed followed up his request with an email containing 10 questions about Iqbal’s career history and salary.

Iqbal deleted the posts because he thought they seemed “haughty”.

Three years later, Ahmed sent another LinkedIn request.

This time, Iqbal agreed and the couple started flirting. They soon had an affair which lasted nine months.

Iqbal was married at that time, which Iqbal claimed to be unaware of.

Furious at the discovery of her marriage on social media, she contacted Iqbal’s wife and revealed the truth.

Her sinister plot continued by falsifying emails from her business account and claiming Iqbal was harassing her.

Ahmed also told police that Iqbal was threatening to post intimate photos of her online.

The initial plan failed and a criminal investigation into harassment was opened.

Ahmed went further and falsely accused Iqbal of rape, leading to his arrest in June 2015.

She also staged her own kidnapping and recruited a former boyfriend to help her. Ahmed asked her to stab her but when he refused, she plunged the blade into his thigh.

Ahmed told police she had been kidnapped by a hitman Iqbal had hired. In the ambulance, she mentioned the name of her ex-lover after phoning the police and claiming to have escaped a killer.

Eventually, her story collapsed under scrutiny and she was arrested.

Iqbal said he was grateful to his wife for being able to forgive him, after a period of separation.

Everything Ahmed had told Iqbal was a lie.

His stories about saving 10 prisoners on death row in Malawi were completely false, as was his degree in forensic science.

This discovery led to his disbarment in 2018.

Ahmed’s ex-boyfriend was given a two-year suspended prison sentence and ordered to pay £2,000 in prosecution costs, on top of his 150 hours of unpaid work.

Anisah Ahmed became the first person to be sentenced to life for perverting the course of justice in April 2021, but seven months later her sentence was overturned. overturned by the Court of Appeal, which increased his prison sentence to 10 years.

After less than four years in prison, Ahmed was released.

She is subject to a house arrest curfew, which means she must wear an electronic tag and can only leave her home at certain times.

Slamming the “shameful” decision, Mohammed Iqbal said:
