Firefighters rescue person inside Saskatoon recycling truck

Firefighters rescued a person discovered inside a recycling truck during its rounds Monday morning.

Around 9:30 a.m., firefighters were notified of a person inside a Loraas truck, who “had been dumped out of a recycling bin,” the fire department said in a statement Tuesday.

The truck driver encountered firefighters at the intersection of Hospital Drive and College Drive.

Using extraction tools, rescue firefighters were able to extract the person from the truck and lower them using a rope system, the release states.

The individual was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries. No further information has been released.
