Doug ‘VB’ Goudie, formerly of Boston’s WRKO and Fox 25, fired again from iHeartMedia

You are talking about a heartless industry.

iHeartMedia has once again fired Doug “VB” Goudie, who was previously on WRKO and a producer for The Howie Carr Show. Goudie was also a popular person Fox News 25 personality.

Goudie — who describes himself on social media as a “conservative voice in the wilds of upstate New York” — was recently fired from iHeartMedia’s WGY in Albany, where he hosted morning shows.

iHeartMedia has reduced its workforce across the country in another round of layoffs.

“The ax of the business fell, and yes, my neck was under it, that’s all. » Goudie said in a video Tuesday, while wearing his Red Sox cap.

After Goudie left WRKO when he was laid off by iHeart during their 2020 cuts, he returned to iHeart shortly after to host mornings on WGY in New York.

“I don’t know what’s next for me,” he said Tuesday. “I’m open to anything and everything, and I’m not sure yet.

“But as we all do in New York, when we get knocked down or pushed around or this path doesn’t go where we think it’s going, we turn to our state motto,” Goudie added. “I know it’s cliché but it’s true: ‘Excelsior’. This is what I teach my children. That’s what I’m doing right now, and when I know more, I’ll tell you more. I promise.
