Toronto Temple Event Canceled After Pannun Threat
Protest near the Canadian Embassy in New Delhi on November 10 against the recent attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton, near Toronto.

NEW DELHI: Amid fears of an attack by Khalistan supporters, Brampton Triveni Mandir and Community Center canceled a consular camp that was to be organized in collaboration with the Indian High Commission to help retired Indian civil servants who have emigrated continue to receive retirement benefits.
The camp was scheduled to take place on November 17, where Hindus and Sikhs of Indian origin could renew their life certificates or provide proof of life, thereby ensuring their pension rights continued.
On Monday, pro-Khalistan terrorist and SFJ leader, Gurpatwant Singh Pannunissued a statement that Indian diplomats would target Hindu temples on November 16 and 17. He also made a veiled threat to attack Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. SFJ said it plans to counter Indian diplomats hosting life certificate camps in Canada, with specific challenges planned for Kalibari Mandir in Mississauga on November 16 and Triveni Mandir in Brampton on November 17.
“…I am saddened that Canadians no longer feel safe coming to Hindu temples here. We are calling on Peel Police to respond to the threats circulating against Brampton Triveni Mandir and to ensure the safety of the Canadian Hindu community and the general public,” a statement from the temple said.
